The building that today houses Posada Sillería has been part of Toledo’s historic fabric for centuries. As early as the 15th century, it is already documented as an inn, a place closely linked to the flow of travellers through the heart of the city.
Over time, the building evolved, adapting to the different stages of history. From inn to stately residence, it was transformed without losing its essence, preserving architectural features that are still present today and allow its past to be understood. Among them stand out the original walls dating back to the late 14th century, as well as plasterwork, traditional structures and construction remains that have endured intact over the centuries.
The recent refurbishment of the building was carried out with a clear objective: to recover its original identity while respecting each of its historic elements. Throughout the process, materials, spaces and architectural details have been preserved and enhanced, now coexisting with a contemporary and functional design.
The result is a place where past and present engage in a natural dialogue. A building that does not simply welcome guests, but tells the story of Toledo.
